Dr. Lori Love is a leader in family law consulting. She has spent her career assisting attorneys, children, and their parents to navigate the challenges that can accompany substance abuse, domestic violence, mental illness, and the reorganizing of families as a child custody consultant.

Dr. Love’s training as a clinical and forensic psychologist provides her unique tools to help the families that trust her with their needs. Her education coupled with her decades of experience give her a dynamic perspective for performing custody evaluations and mediations. Dr. Love teaches one of the few Custody Evaluator’s Training 40-hour course through the Steve Frankyl Group. She has a deep understanding of the complex issues that are often involved with divorce and child custody issues. She prides herself in being impartial and focused on what is best for the children. Her track record shows she is an effective high-quality evaluator with young children to adolescents. Her ability to quickly identify mental health issues has helped her earn the reputation as a prized advocate for children.

Dr. Love also serves as a consultant for attorneys and their clients who are preparing for an evaluation or mediation. Dr. Love’s reassuring and compassionate style helps guide parents through the evaluation process each step of the way. She guides her clients on how to choose an evaluator, speak to the evaluator, what to do (and not to do) during the observations and legal proceedings, and she helps parents highlight their strengths. She also assists parents in constructing developmentally appropriate requests so they are more likely to receive recommendations that are truly in the best interest of their children.

Dr. Love is one of the professionals that brought the training of Parent Coordinators to San Diego. She was instrumental in training and developing resources for seasoned psychologists and attorneys who want to assist families in staying out of court and focusing their energy on their children’s best interests.
